This is funny. As I'm typing, I'm eating at the computer and I'm having my own homemade spaghetti with meat sauce with shredded parmesan... and a glass of Citra Montepulciano.

My favorite Italian regional reds are Straccali Chianti (if the sauce has meat), Santa Cristina Sangiovese (if it's softer food... like chicken with a red sauce or marinara with no meat) and I sometimes like Il Valore Primitivo Puglia (Trader Joe's) with Italian sausage because it's got that little licorice hit that's a great match for the fennel in the sausage.

If it's something like Shrimp Scampi (seafood and garlic with olive oil etc) then I like Contadino Pinot Grigio (also Trader Joe's)

If I'm doing pizza... I like the Le Grotte Reggiano Lambrusco from Trader Joe's... a far cry upscale from the Reunite days back in the 70's - lol
