Yes. It was supposed to be a "trim". She cut off a good 4 inches, AND it was ugly. I wanted to burst into tears.

The same thing happened to me that last time I got my hair cut, but it wasn't quite long enough to go into a ponytail.
The girl who cut it didn't speak English, but she acted like she knew what I was saying and I wanted the same haircut I already had, anyway! How uncomplicated is that, right?
Mine has grown out really fast and I'm sure yours will, too. Just keep telling yourself, IT'S ONLY HAIR.

I gotta a haircut one time and did cry....Do you remember the late 70's early 80's...I was in middle school, went in for some wings with a little punk look too them and came out with a mullet!. I'm a girl! I cried so bad....I had no bangs and it was cut about 1 inch on top and side; and straight as a board down my back. I didn't have my hair professionally cut again until I was in my mid twenties.
Seriously if I used that school photo for a avatar, you guys would think its a joke.

YES!! I had really nice long brown hair and saw a pic of scarlette Johansson with short hair. So I really wanted mine like that because it looked really nice! So I went to the haircut place showed them the picture and after they cut it I was like WOWW!:(in a bad way. I didn't say i hated it to them but when I got home I started to cry and I hated myself and wanted to shoot the haircut lady, not really but then I was seriously mad!! So I just keep my hair in a ponytail and hope it gets longer!!!somehow.I even hated it so much I wanted to buy a hair thing that makes hair longer!! NOw it looks like Cameron Diaz and it looks fine but I still will be made untill its in the middle of my chest. But it is just hair, but we are GIRLS.Good luck with your hair, I will need some too.

Yes, I have cried. I hate it when you go for a "trim" and you come out with a completely different, too short hairstyle. To me, a trim means you want to keep the same hairstyle, just shape it up.

Ohhh yeah. I had mine chopped off once by the family hairstylist, who made my hair all pixielike, and then about a year later someone else tried to duplicate the cut...it was awful! I looked like a boy the second time around....couldn't wait for it to grow back out!

I've gotten a haircut and have cried over it. Luckily my hair grows out quickly so I find a way to style it and sadly deal with it. And I never go back to that stylist...

I despised the first military buzz-cut I got in Basic. I also share the philosophy of Keith Richards: why have someone else (who's holding sharp objects, to boot) mess around with your personal noggin?

I used to have long waist lengh hair. Becasuse of the stupid split ends, I had to cut it shoulder length. It's growing again, but I'm upset because the split ends keep coming back and it took me five long years to grow it waist lengh.
