Headhunters...
Headhunters is a nickname for Employment Recuriters. They help people find jobs or companies find people... similar to what you described. They're like the "telemarkters" of the human resource industry, as viewed by professoinals in the biz... lol

Other names I've seen:
Personnel Management
Professional development coordinator - another job where you help the employee grow professionally

You know how everyone refers to the Human Resource dept. as HR? It could be called the MPTP dept. for "my pleasure to place you" dept.

MPTP has a nice ring to it. Say it a couple times, let it roll off your tongue. Yeah, I like it.........Use it as in role playing with someone. You are going to transfer someone to another dept. you say, "hey you! Yeah you! Hit the door and report to MPTP. They have some news for you!"
