My first question is -- when is it? I know it's televised on ESPN this year.

Second -- New Jersey prospect Rick Porcello is expected to go No. 2 to KC. But Peter Gammons says he could fall all the way to the Yanks due to the Boras factor. Are teams really this afraid that they won't sign a player?

Three -- Is baseball like football, where, if a player signs with an agent, he loses his amateur eligibility? I read Porcello signed a letter of intent for UNC and he will go there if he can't sign with a team. But, see above question.

One - It's on Thursday, and ESPN2 will carry the broadcast from 2-6 p.m.:

Two - Yes, they are, especially given Boras' track record. He usually makes it quite clear to teams before the draft what he expects. Some see that as manipulating the draft, while others see it as honesty. He warned the Phils a decade ago not to draft J.D. Drew unless they were going to pay big bucks, but they didn't listen and ended up hurting themselves. First-round choices often don't pan out, but you want to at least draft a guy you have a chance of signing.

Three - No, an MLB draft choice has every right to choose going to college over signing with his team. One of the funny things about the MLB draft is that you can't draft the same guy twice without their permission, so you'd need them to consent to your choosing them again.

1: June 7

2: KC will draft him if available.

3: If a player signs with an agent he DOES lose his amateur eligibility. It is not the MLB who grants that. The NCAA will not allow a player with an agent to play. Players can and often are drafted without agents. Then they can choose to go pro, sign with an agent, or go to college.

1. it is thursday June 7th on ESPN 2 at 2oclock

2. KC wants him even tho Boras is his agent. hes too much talent to pass up and hes not T.O. i played with him and hes a quiet kid who just wants to play ball

3. no it is not like football. if he chooses not to sign with a team even tho he has an agent he can still go to UNC if he so chooses. he can then be drafted 2 more times before he must either sign or become an unrestricted free agent
