Restaurants dont need fancy resumes, just fill out an application. Also, there are lots of places that do data entry at entry levels where you may be able to learn valuable computer skills. The BBB here has a great program but they only pay minimum wage.

Remember when you go in to ask for the application to look your best and don't go at a peak time. The manager will get upset with someone interrupting the breakfast/lunch/dinner rush for an application, the best time to go is probably between 2 and 4 on a weekday, don't even think about going on a weekend to apply.

Good luck and have fun making tips. Also remember that tips are not guaranteed they are supplements that are given. TIPS is actually an acronym that stands for To Insure Prompt Service.

Go to the restaurant and ask for an application. If you want to fill it out while you're there, make sure you take information like your social security number and reference (people they can call and talk to about you) contact info with you. Fill it out and turn it back in. You will usually be most successful if you ask for a manager when you turn it in and give it to them. Be dressed nicely, not sloppy when you do this - its your first impression on them. If they don't contact you for awhile, you can always call and check the status of your app., sometimes reminding them you exist helps.

Check to see if you need a health or food handlers' card. You might want to get that first so you can start right away--it saves the employer from having to wait for you to start b/c it can take a while to get a TB test and go thru the health dept. classes. Good luck...

Just walk in and ask to talk to the manager if possible. If the manager is not available just ask if there are any positions open and if it would be possible for you to fill out an application.

You go in and ask for an application. Fill it out, hand it back to them and tell them thanks. Make sure your handwriting is ledgible and you fill in all blanks to the best of your ability. If there is something on the application that does not pertain to you put N/A. (not appy). Good Luck.

All of the above, but do you need to get a work permit where you live? Start there, then start filling out the apps.
