i don't think many people ever do truly know themselves/figure themselves out. People are complicated. Ever seen Shrek, the first one? remember when he's telling donkey about 'layers'? well, that's people. they have layers, many many layers. and some of them you don't discover until you encounter certain things. like maybe you hate heights. but you'd never know that if you were raised on a farm in oklahoma.

Yes, I do know my identity and it is societal pressure that unfortunately forces people to be who they aren't - or lead dual lives - which is sad.
