You will need a passeport to travel oversea but don't forget (like I did) to keep your green card on you, you will need it to enter the States again.

Need a passport, but need a Green Card to come back in U.S, so you will be treated as American citizen at the immigration. (sometimes shorter lines)

Everyone has to travel on a passport now. You will have to use the one issued by your native country. If you do not have one, check with the closest consulate or embassy, of your native country to get one.
