Does anyone know any good books that have good character analysis, and an in-depth plot? I like Jane Austen's literature, and I also like a book called Flipped by Wendelin van Draanen.
Can anyone recommend books similar to these?
I am twelve, so books similar to those genres and literature styles are good, too.
Thanks,
SW

My favorite book of all time is "Gone with the Wind" by Margaret Mitchell. Very few books have captured the essence of the characters as Gone with the Wind does. Scarlett O'Hara who loves Ashley Wilkes who loves Melanie who knows that Rhett Butler loves Scarlett but Scarlett doesn't see it. As far as a good plot, it's tough to beat the Civil War and the death of the old ways of the South. Read it at your age three times!

If you like Wendelin van Draanen, try the Sammy Keyes series, the first book is called "Sammy Keyes and the Hotel Thief". Also try "Feed" by M.T. Anderson, one of the best books I've ever read.

I would suggest Shug by Jenny Han which I read last year and thought it was really good. I haven't read Flipped yet (it's on my list of books I want to read) but the description kind of reminded me of Shug.

I'm including the amazon link if you're interested in looking a bit further into what the book is about.

Try the Horatio Hornblower series by C.S. Forrester or Tom Jones, a Foundling, by Henry Fielding (sort of a male Jane Austin)

Good for you liking such refined books at such a young age. I would check out the works of Dickens, I first read them when I was about your age. Great Expectations or A Tale of Two Cities is a good start. Don't let anyone tell you you're too young to read good literature!

You can go to Amazon.com and search:
"Lost from Atlantis Book 1"
"Death by Murder David Lindsay" - you have to search that way.
and "Super Spaghetti."

They're all available for free right now through Kindle Unlimited, which you can get with a free trial - Google how to get it. Then you can read it online or with a free Kindle phone app if you don't have a Kindle.

I agree Gap Creek by Robert Morgan is very good. He also has This Rock and The sweetest thing both excellent. You can also try Random Familys. I really like Philippa Gregory it is historic fiction but it is very good.
