I have a history of hypertension, but this reading scared me. It's never been this high before. I've been dizzy for 3 weeks and my vision has been kinda messed up. Could I REALLY have a stroke at a moments notice?

I am 35, just had a baby and am still carrying the "baby weight". I am 5'1 and weight approx. 175. My average weight has always been 130-145. But ever since the baby was born I've had a tough time losing the weight.

Your blood pressure is VERY high! You are out of the hypertension range of blood pressure and is in what we call the "Stage 2 Hypertension" area. My advice as a health care professional is to seek attention either from your family MD, NP, PA or ER MD as quickly as you possibly can! Your Systolic and Diastolic (both the top and bottom numbers) are abnormal and should be treated!
With these measurements, you are honestly at a rather high risk for a stroke, and I would guess maybe a slightly elevated risk for a heart attack (varies on family history). If you: begin to get dizzy/confused, blurry vision, sudden headache, or trouble speaking clearly, call 9-1-1 right away as you are most likely having a stroke!
If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to message me directly.

3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. I used to feel dizzy a lot, my legs had awful cramps, and levels were very low in my potassium, causing my fingers and toes to always cramp together. One day I started to feel really faint while I was driving with my daughter in the back seat and I passed out, hitting 3 cars and ending up in a ditch. That moment,I knew I had to do something because my meds weren't working. I heard about this diet from a friend and thought I'd give it a shot. The results have been remarkable. In just 21 days, I honestly can't remember feeling this good, my blood pressure went from 175/110 to 125/70.

I don't know the dangerous low blood pressure. It's all about the symptoms that you are having when you have this low blood pressure. If you feel dizzy and faint, then you would be likely to have low blood pressure. Low blood pressure usually means bleeding or loss of fluid from the body. Blood pressure norms also depends on age and general health condition

Yes, that bottom number is alarmingly high! You have a history and you're not on meds? You should go to the hospital so they can lower it and follow up with you doctor for monitoring. Could you have a stroke? No one can say for sure, but no need to find out the hard way. It does happen.

if you have been diagnosed with hypertension previously and your blood pressure is elevated even more than before even with medication; you should seek medical treatment either a clinic or walk in visit to your physician right away; i don't think that you will have a stroke at "a moments notice" BUT you should definately seek medical treatment to get your blood pressure under control and promptly to lessen the risk of long term effects such as renal disease and heart disease. hope you feel better. be sure to drink a lot of water at this point as well as cutting down on sodium as your kidneys are probably working harder than normal while your blood pressure is this elevated.

Yes, that lower number is high - but I do not know your weight or age. You need to see a doctor if your vision is blurry and you are getting dizzy - as it could be so many different diagnosis.

Don't panic too much until AFTER you see the docter...But you do need to see a docter about that. And as for the weight, I know plenty of woman who have trouble losing the baby weight.

Yes this is dangerous. Go to urgent care or ER now and get all of your symptoms checked out. Get off the computer and have someone else drive you there.
