So I was thinking if you went through the history of the Seattle Mariners and picked the best player for each position at the peak of their career, what would the team look like? Here is what I have, tell me your thoughts:

1b Alvin Davis
2b Harold Renolds
SS A-Rod
3B Edgar
OF: Griffey Jr, Buhner, Ichiro
C: Dan Wilson
P: Randy Johnson

ummmn id sub out harold reynold and put in bret boone(check the stats) boone better offense and better fielding pct
martinez was primarily a dh jim presley would be my 3b

so my line up would be

1b alvin davis
2b brett boone
ss arod
3b jim presley
of jr,bhuner,ichiro
c wilson
dh e. martinez

since pitchers only play once every 5 days on average so here is my alltime mariners rotation no specific order...

Mark Langston
Randy Johnson
Jamie Moyer
Mike Moore
Freddie Garcia

sasaki or schooler as the closer

I think you've nailed it pretty good.

Some great players on the list, but Dan Wilson sticks out pretty badly. It's bad when the best catcher in franchise history has a .309 career OBP, but there just hasn't been any competition.

I'm not an expert on the Mariners at all, but this looks very good. Maybe you can expand it to having Kaz Sasaki as the closer. And you could put Edgar at DH and put someone else.

p.s. I have a good feeling about that new catcher, Jojima (sp?)

Looks about right. You mis-spelled the SS, it should be A-Fraud or Pay-Rod....

That list still looks pretty pathetic. One of these days the M's will go all the way.

very solid team, but I would have to swap out the right side of your infield and go with Bret Boone (2B) and John Olerud (1B).
