You'd think that for £300 the software would give you the best of the best. Sometimes it's more trouble than it's worth, and I have to do my maps over and over : (

Google earth is only photographed as little as once every couple of years. Furthermore high detailed maps are reserved for tourist areas, major cities and mainly the U.S.A, after all this is where google is based. As it would take up a lot of data to make the entire programme as detailed the software makes the resolution of 'less important' areas to a minimum. This means rural areas are often seen as a blur when you zoom up close. You may wish to try local.live.com , this msn service provides 3D maps you can tour, of most cities and can be downloaded to improve picture quality.

Before posting the aerial phots, Google allowed the various governments to review same and set resolution. The U.K. must have decided it wanted a low resolution photo for your area. The same thing happened in my area.

probably because the atmosphere above the UK is showered with pollution still from the industrial revolution haha i have no idea that is pretty interesting tho
