Your in the Midwest and this kind of weather is common during the spring into early summer. A series of strong low pressures are passing through and expect this pattern to continue. As in matter of fact the Northern Pacific just had a massive, strong low pressure on June 4, 2007 and this storm is heading your way, so be prepared for more strong storms and there is that chance they could become severe.

All the descriptions of hell can't hold a candle to midwest US weather.

When it's cold, it's colder than hell, with winds that whip THROUGH you, not around you. When it's hot, it's hotter than hell, with humidity enough to melt the Sears Tower.

Between those two extremes comes the 'wild weather' of spring and fall. During those seasons, half the water of the Great Lakes falls from the sky in a progression from snow to rain to hail, from hail to rain to snow, March to June, then September to November.

Make sure your car is in tip-top shape; automobiles age quickly and develop strange quirks with belts and hoses in such adverse, frequently changing conditions.

I spent 3 years in Chicago, but aged 20.
