#2 Please don't take life too seriously. Sure we need to be aware but we can't and don't have to control everything in our lives and around us.It will destroy us if we keep trying.

This is an interesting question! My first thought is #2. I think sometimes we can't take life or ourselves too seriously or we will go crazy. On the other hand, there are certain times in life when you have to take it seriously. The best advise to me is to try to live one day at a time, put the past behind you and keep things in perspective.

Don't take life too seriously. Life is too short to worry and fret about life. My wife and I have had a lot of problems (not about our marriage). We worried to a certain extent, but if we took it all too seriously we would have been basket cases. There some things that needed to be taken seriously but you do your best and hope for the best. Go with the flow. Life goes on regardless so why make it so troublesome.

for me Alex, I honestly chose statement number 1

'You need to take life more seriously'

You know what people, I think you took the very sentence literally.
You must not read all of them like reading a simple sentence. Why not try to read between the lines, or find it's deeper meaning.

Just like I did.

You know , AND I KNOW, that every one of us, has only 1 time/chance to live, it means that, if you wasted this one chance, your totally mess, you're totally nothing, you're just like a dirt of dust that first appeared here on Earth, then swept away ridiculously by God, or by death.

In my own opinion, I say that, while you live, don't make , umm err I don't mean not to create mistakes, but TO AVOID THEM and to strive hard for the better and for the best. Not to waste your precious life on other nonsense and things that are really useless. Try to live by what is best for you, your family, for the community and society. Try to learn about the experiences of the elders and try to value their lessons and to prevent the same mistakes that happened when they're at our age. Try to strive more goals and achievements as time passes by on you and try to give an amazing contribution to humankind by your simple acts of kindness towards others, and helping each other during times of hardships and trials. And when you grow old, all of your experiences and lessons that you've learned from other people, share them with your grandchildren, children, nephews, nieces, or even to simple other 'younger generation' people and that you may have peace to die and die happily.

"Try not to let to be swept away from this world without leaving an INDELIBLE mark of your very existence here. "

Don't take life too seriously, because if you do, you will be totally stressed out all the time and will not be able to enjoy it.

I guess both are important...It depends on what you are talking about...If you are talking about your life and your relationship with Jesus Christ...I'd say, take that seriously. If you are talking about hanging out in a place like Yahoo Answers, I'd say, don't take that too seriously!!

What are you talking about??

2. Most of us don't have a problem taking it seriously.

We all need a healthy dose of the ridiculous from time to time.

hmm, i'd say it depends on the person who you are giving advice to. if it's someone who's wild and crazy and can't take care of their own stuff, then i'd say #1. if on the otherhand it's someone who never takes a break or is really uptight, then i'd say #2. it's finding the balance in between that is the hard part!
