The most common cause of an enlarged uterus, other than pregnancy, is fibroids. However, adenomyosis can also cause an enlarged uterus. Adenomyosis is when the lining of the utertus (the endometrium) thickens.

Many females, as they get older, experience an enlarged uterus. I did due to fibroids.
