yes, every 30,000 -50,000 miles i really reccomend flushing out the coolant. This keeps the coolant system operating at its best, plus this allows attention to the rest of the system, where as maybe you would not have noticed a bad radiator hose or worse a leak. Also make sure whoever does it actually flushes it instaed of just draining and refilling it. this actually runs a chemical through the system to brake down the rust and corrosion.

Let me ask this, How old it the car and how long since you have flushed or changed the antifreeze? If a long time, yes, you need it flushed and the rust and scale builds up not only in the radiator but the block also. If it is a new car..less than 3 years and the coolant is still brightly colored, would not worry about it....YET. This is normal maintenance, but not every oil change!!!

Hey I'm a mechanic, and I can tell you that most all of the places I have worked, that a radiator flush involves draining out the old coolant, and then refilling it with new coolant. And then they charge you a crapload of money. And you can certainly do that yourself for about 10-20 bucks right? That's pretty much all that it is. Rip off huh?

It depends on how many miles are on your vehicle.

Over time, the inside of your radiator gets all kinds of built-up gunk (calcium, rust, etc) which restrict the flow of coolant through the radiator. If the restricting crud is not removed periodically, your radiator cannot cool your engine oil properly, which causes your engine to run hotter, which burns your oil up faster, which can lead to decreased performance and shorter engine life.

Not if you or the previous owner has taken good care of the cooling system and there is no rust or leaks in the system.

I know some people that only drain and fill their cooling systems annually and never have any problems or rust.

They do back-flush the system with plain water and no chemicals before refilling.

In my opinion NO unless it has been severely neglected by not changing the antifreeze for years and years. Improperly flushing can cause more problems than it fixes. As long as your system is drained and refilled at least every two years (preferably every year) than flushing is not needed.

YES !! you should flush it every 2 years because then it can get clogged up and your car may start to overheat due to the low pass of water to the motor.

as long as you run the engine until it warms up each time you fill it with water to flush it, the thermostat opens anyway. it is not that big of a deal on a car or jeep, but if it was a van with rear a/c, then you want to make sure it is fully hot and turn on the rear heat to get the old coolant out of the rear heater core
