Yes I do, if they are both passionate about politics. I think it's fine to have differing beliefs, but my political beliefs are a way of life for me and I would never consider marrying someone of another party affiliation.

i think that it helps a couple survive the more they have in common, but they don't have to have all of the same political views

Nope. My aunt and unlce have been married for over 38 years and they have very different political views. My aunt is a registered Independent and is very liberal in her views. My uncle is a strong republican and is very conservative in his views. Yet they have been happily married for almost a half a century. I think that proves my point.

I suppose it depends on how important politics are to the individuals. I could not be with a woman that was a republican. I have to be able to respect my partners choices.

Not really. You can still have a healthy relationship if you disagree on some things. As long as you respect each other and don't try to force your opinions on each other (unless you are the woman then it is okay).

Not necessarily. If they can have non-violent discussions then it's very stimulating to hjave differing views.

No. Here in the US we have freedom of choice whether we are a couple or not.

I do not think it is necessary. It could become an issue if you are both stringly opinionated, and into politcs though
