When I first saw the iPhone I thought it was stupid, but the more I learn about it, the better it gets (play movies, GPS, email, web browsing, etc.). With that in mind, would you buy it even if it's $600? Would you buy it if the price went down? Would you buy it at all?

"The iPhone does not have built in GPS. It has google maps that can give you directions but cannot follow your route."

I think you're right. I thought about about that right after I posted it.

"I'm not an Apple Fan"

Neither am I.

"...how many features it has."

Imagine, people buying devices based on how functional it is. Amazing!

"I buy Cell Phones as a communication device, to make calls and receive calls."

So do you also buy cars without radios?

"a phone that's so so on quality and reception"

How could you know the reception quality of a phone that hasn't come out yet?

"Anytime you combine multiple items in one, you take away from the quality."

Anytime? What about drug synergy (Aspirin and Tylenol), for example?

I'm so glad you're here to help us dumb consumers out, you pompous prick.

Personally, I'm not an Apple Fan and I know they are going to spend millions in advertising for it and hype it and dumb consumers will buy it because they buy everything now based on looks and how many features it has. I buy Cell Phones as a communication device, to make calls and receive calls. I would much rather have a cell phone that is dedicated to do just that very well then to have a phone that's so so on quality and reception but is packed with features like music player, camera, etc. Anytime you combine multiple items in one, you take away from the quality. Your much better off buying a real digital camera or a real MP3 player then to get it all combined in one device like a cell phone. Also, having an overpriced unit like the iPhone means your more likely to get it stolen then if you had a standard Cell Phone without all the bells & whistles!

I'm not. I already have a good phone and a 30GB iPod. I spent less than the lowest asking price for the iPhone for both. Why anyone would spend $499 or $599 for an iPhone is beyond me. My phone(Samsung t629) was $99.99 and I bought my 30GB iPod after the price drop and it was $248.44 at Walmart. So I paid $348.43 before taxes, and have a good phone and an iPod with MUCH more storage than both iPhones. Even when/if prices go down, I still will not buy it.

I wouldn't buy it. I like having a cell phone and an ipod separately. Plus, you'd pay $600 and you'd have to keep the phone for 2 years before you can renew to a new phone at a decent price. I'd rather go nuts and buy a nano, a 30gb iPod and a really cool cell phone instead. Sorry buddy...

Well the truth of the matter is that Apple develops software for entertainment more than anything else. If you seek entertainment on your phone like an average customer would, then the iPhone is for you. I would personally just get the Treo 700... I'm more of a techie and would much rather have professional and office setting software on my phone. Plus, a Treo would make me look important haha

I would love to buy one but, I'll have to wait a couple of years to the price goes down b/c they cost way too much. I've seen all the presentations of the phone and it's really amazing.
