There is no difference. If you like people of the same sex as yourself, you are homosexual.

Being gay means you only like the same sex, being bi means you like both.
Both have advantages and disadvantages. Being bi means you can "pass" for straight if you're in unfriendly territory, but the gay world is set up for gay people, and most people forget that we're a separate orientation, which can be annoying.

Being gay means that you are only attracted to members of your same sex, being bi-sexual means that you are attracted to both sexes. Some argue that we are all a little bit bi...but typically each person is able to define themselves as either heterosexual, bisexual or gay.
