No, you don't have to. And you don't have to go to the ER. Call your OB/GYN or family doctor, and they can advise you of your options.

I'm so sorry about what you are going through! I had a similar experience with a tubal. Although your numbers are not doubling, they are rising. I would definitely wait until there was something more difinitive to suggest a miscarriage. As long as you are prepared....it may happen anyway. But it never hurts to hold out hope. But I wouldn't jump the gun with a d&c. Just wait and see what your body does. My 5 week scan only saw a yolk sac too, so that is normal. If your numbers are rising, the baby is still alive. Ask for another scan in a week to look for a heartbeat/and or see if the baby has grown. You just never know. Good luck! I wish the best for you!

No... not always it depends on how far along you are and how well your body rejects the fetus. Most of the time your body can get rid of the fetus on it's own. Especially at 7 weeks. I was further along and did not have to get a D&C. They just had me come back and check on the ultra sound to make sure everything was gone. I'm sure everyone is different. Good luck... and I'm sorry to hear about your bad news : [

first, I'm so sorry for your loss. Secondly, no you don't need one but it might help alleviate any pain associated with miscarriage. I opted not to have one when the doctor told me I was miscarrying but the next day I called to have it scheduled. I heard some people could hemorrhage if you don't get it done, and I'm glad I did mine because I found out I was O- and I needed a Rhogam shot. Your safest bet is to get it done.

No. If you had a complete miscarriage, that means your body did what it was supposed to do. If you had an incomplete miscarriage, then a D & C will be necessary to remove the remaining fetal tissue.

I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks and did not have to have a D&C or take any meds for the miscarriage.
My sister had a miscarriage at 8 weeks and they gave her medicine to make her pass the miscarriage but no D&C.
So sorry for your loss
Good luck

Why are you waiting to go to the er tomorrow? That's dangerous! You only have to have a d&c if not everything came out.
