Find the amount when the base and percent are known

Amount = base x percent

Convert 70 % to decimal

remove the % symbol. Divide 70 by 100

70 / 100 = 0.7

Multiply 480 times the decimal

480 x 0.7 = 336

The amount is $ 336

$ 336 is 70% of $ 480
