I never pass up the opportunity to try and be a blessing to someone who may be feeling down. Perhaps one smile may keep someone going for another day. I don't care about a persons standing in society as they all have basic needs to be cared for and respected. I like the saying, "If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours". They might even get a hug if I feel invited to their space. I don't believe in invading people's space and it is different for everyone. Nice question and am glad to know I am not alone on this happiness revival. Mmm

Whenever I'm out and inadvertenly make eye contact--this is when I usually smile. Sometimes I get a such a cold, or mean, glare back, I just keep my smile muscles relaxed. Nonetheless, if I'm feeling good, I try to exude my good feelings by smiling.(smiling at people that is--I would look a little nutty walking around with a smile plastered on my face)

It depends. If I make eye contact passing someone then yes, I usually add a smile.
But some people walk down the street not acknowledging others, so in that case, I wouldn't make the effort.

All the time to everyone...if they make eye contact. Some people try to hard not to look at other people when they're walking down the street. Why is that?

This morning walking into work....and I smiled at the people I passed. They were not my co-workers although I did smile at them too.

every time i walk down The street, or in a store, at work. smiling is contagious! it's how i was raised....
