Why Indian cricket team cannot have an Indian coach?

Why the BCCI always looking for foreign coaches? Why we can't have Indian coaches who knows Indian players and their social and cultural backgrounds? Is there any hidden agenda?

Because we are one of those who forget the services of our national hero's and Faith on White col or more.
In my op pinion Mohinder Amaranth is the ideal person to coach the Indian cricket team.

HI! I am karthik. I am also a cricket lover. After seeing the recent performance of Indian Cricket team, any Indian will loose the hope on the recent team's performance in Indian team. But, I ask how could u blame the coach for the performance. It completely depends on the players. Because, as Rahul said, the work of a coach is only off the ground, once the players enter the ground coach can no more guide or govern the individuals. So, I assist the players for such a poor performance.

What is the nead for a coach anyway? Get 3 people who have a good cricketing brain and get the captain to take a collective descion.
Cricket is not a very complicated game till now but attempts are on to make the game as complicated as possible like new rules and 20 20.

I think the BCCI is giving the team a foreign coach because from a coach from outside it will be easier and we will get good knowlegde about other team. And if it is Graham Ford we can get imformations of the weak points of the S.African team.

Yes,you are right.In india there are various good coaches who will do their jobs much better than foreign coaches.Moreover BCCI waste too much money on foreign coaches.Indian coaches knows indian players and the environment and can train them well.I completely supports you in this regard.

I am also really surprised asto why we give so much importance to foreign coaches as none of the foreign coaches who had coached Indian Team has done anything miraculously till now.

No Indian coach has come forward and expressed his desire to take up the coaching job.Also there is no qualified people to taking up the coaching job,for coaching ,you need good qualification,merely being a ex-player cant make a good coach(recall Kapil dev's term as coach).

Only Dav Whatmore,Gramme ford had sent their application for the position and they are being considered.No Indian had sent their application to be the coach,so they are not being considered.
