the more thread count the nicer the material is. Wal-Mart sells 250 thread count, and it is kind of rough. I'd try and buy 400 thread count but it's more expensive.

I'm a bedding junkie...I've found some 1000 thread count sheets at BJ's wholesale for $80 and it's so nice and soft....Also, they last longer than the cheapie sheets.... In case anyone wanted to know TJ Maxx and Marshalls have them too...

The higher the thread count the softer the feel of the fabric. 200 is pretty poor. 400 and above very nice. I prefer 600 myself, super comfy.

I usually try to buy at least 300. Usually 400. It means that the sheets will be softer and nicer.
