Cristiano Ronaldo
Why is he my favourite? Because he is so driven and determined. He is not going to let anything get in his way, no one's cheap talk will hurt him, it will only strengthen him.
And the fact that he helps with charity, and well, he's from my home. BUT even though I've liked him since back in the day, he's REALLY earned my respect in the past year and has solidified his spot as my favourite. I'm especially hard on him in comparison to other footballers, unlike a lot of fans, because I want him to be the best... I strive for him to be the best (lol crazy fan I am) so I only pick on him because I wish he was perfect, because I just want others to see he is worthy of respect. Unfortunately, he is not as respected as he should be, so I will continue to support him but I will never forget his faults.

C.Ronaldo because he got away with what he got away with at the WC and because he didn't back down even though everyone hated him in the begining of the season and he turned it around and became the best player in England as voted by the fans, players, and press that hated him at the beginning of the season.
Kaka because he has crazy skills and plays for the best club in Italy.
Maldini because of his loyalty to and passion for AC Milan.
Gerrard because his never say die attitude and his loyalty to Liverpool.
Rooney because he dealt with the WC fiasco maturely and was able to put his differences with Ronaldo aside and be friends again even though people less effected by what happened were not. Also because he gives 110% every game.

SHE is a student in my class. She's a great soccer player because she gives herself wholly to the game. She is the most focused, determined athlete I've seen in a long time. It's obvious that she is having fun, even when our team is getting tromped.

I pick Alessandro Del Piero. I choose him because of his loyalty to his beloved Juve. He could have chosen not to play in the Serie B, but instead what does he do???
He becomes the top goal scorer in Serie B and helps Juve to win promotion to Serie A

Philipp Lahm, He's so talented on the pitch but he's just such an ideal boy outside of it. =] Reminds me a lot of an angel version of my little brother.
