In these you can just constantly swim without having to stop while having control over the speed of the water and also in some cases the temperature as well if you're willing to pay that extra money for a nice one if you buy it with your own money.

In endless pools you can set the controls to go faster or slower and therefore do basically whatever you want to do. In some cases endless pools don't have wide-enough sides to do butterfly but it is technically possible to do butterfly in these. All of the other strokes like back, breast and of course free are all possible to do in the endless pools and you also don't have to worry about flip turns in case you're bad with those!

The last main thing about endless pools is that it can still get people exercising if they don't have a local pool like if they live in a remote area. All you need is a good water supply (with climate control preferably) an the right chemicals and maintenance on the pool and you're all set.

An endless pool allows the swimmer to swim continuously and against adjustable current. It's an awesome training tool for an open water swimmer or a distance swimmer to have in their home, which isn't usually the ideal place for an olympic-sized pool.

The endless pool uses jets to create a water flow in one direction and recycles the water continuously creating a directional current in the body of water.

You can also install a camera below the surface of an endless pool and use the footage for stroke and technique evaluations. For a competitive athlete, improved technique can take seconds off a race time!

Though you may think people will buy anything or you may not see the point, a competitive athlete knows the value of an endless pool and is more than willing to shell out the cash to improve their performance. If I had the money, I'd be all over an endless pool!!!

endless pools are great for a couple reasons.

1) They allow you to swim continuously, without the impact that results from flipturns. This is great for people with bad knees or ankles.
2) They dont take up much room. I helped my cousin install one in his basement. This is great in colder climates, it makes your investment usable year-round.
3) Theyre cheaper than other at-home pool options for lap swimmers.

if you are not a lap/fitness swimmer, there is no point to an endless pool. dont get one.

It's for people who don't have room for a full-sized pool.
