My question is her cd-rom isn't playing her cds..Can someone help me?

There could be several reasons the drive doesn't read. First it might just be dirty. Get one of those CD cleaners and run it. You can get one at just about any place that sells CD's.

Second, check the BIOS and make sure that it is seeing the drive. If not, do a "Auto Detect" for it.

Third, unplug both the IDE and the power cable and then plug them back in.

And fourth, you may need to replace the drive. It's not a hard job, just a few screws.

First try the cd's in another computer. If they work on another computer then it is the CD drive. If the cd's don't work then it's the CDs. If the drive is bad you can go to Wal-Mart or Circuit City or places like that and buy a new drive. You can put it in yourself or take it to your local repair shop and they can replace it for ya. I work on computers for a living and replacing a CD drive is one of the most simple things to replace.
