I'm 10 weeks pregnant and when my morning sickness comes, I can't function, I throw up in the car at work, while walking, in the grocery store...it's horrible. What do you do to function properly, I already have money problems and calling off work isn't a possiblity any more!

maybe you should have a talk w/ your manager and see if you can come in a little later and stay a little longer. if you get there at 9 and only take maybe a 1/2 hour lunch and work over 30 min, that would make up your time and hopefully not place too much of a burden on the others at work. most ppl know what we are going thru and are understanding, hopefully they will work w/ you.

then when the morning sickness is over go back to normal hours.

I know exactly how you feel. The worst part for me is that I didn't get my morning sickness until my 4th month so I was already showing also! I work full time and feel just like you do. I would feel so sick the whole drive to work, pulling over to throw up and when I'd get to work I would be throwing up at my desk, I couldn't even have a conversation with anyone without them noticing that I was gagging. So I started trying things everyday...these are some things that helped me...

Lemon slices...while you are at your desk have some lemon slices and casually suck on those...

A glass of Orange juice before leaving the house

Peanut butter and jelly sandwhich...

I always made sure to have something little in my stomach in the morning because the empty stomach also makes you feel sick...I avoided coffee in early morning because it upset my stomach...all pregnancys are different but those are some things that worked for me....good luck e mail me or message me if you'd like to talk

Wow, I'm sorry to hear it. Don't know if I can help cause when I was pregnant I always felt sick but never threw up. My best friend was sick like you when she was pregnant. She was so sick she lost about 20 pounds and they had to put her in the hospital. They put her on medication. I would suggest going to doctor and telling them that the sickness is interfering with your work and ask to be put on some medication. Or maybe you can take a vacation for the next couple of weeks. I heard that morning sickness usually tapers off after you're in the second trimester which is after 12 weeks.

There's hope!

Keep salteen crackers next to your bed side, do not get up unless you muscled at least three of them down. But eat it slowly, otherwise the nausea will get worse. Keep a small bottle of warm ginger ale on you at all times. When you start to feel a little nausea comming on, take small sips of the ginger ale - DO NOT CHUG IT. Also ice water helps too. Munch on some ice chips, or crushed ice cubes. It will settle your stomach. Eat light things like toast, with a little bit of jelly or jam. Ask your doctor if you can take anti acids, and those pink pills, those will help you a lot. Also most of the morning sickness can be mentally conquored. When you feel like your going to blow, sit and breathe and tell yourself you are in control of your body. Will it not to come up, it helps. Most of life is mental, so being mentally over your body works. Also, when you feel sick, try and think of something else, like watch tv or do some paper work or something that will take your mind off the feeling. If its really bad, keep barf bags with you at all times. Don't eat heavy foods, like fried foods or starch - they will make your stomach worse.... any other questions contact me

I feel your pain!! I am 18 wks preg and when I started having morning sickness, it was actually all -day sickness!!! It was sooo bad that my Dr wrote me out of work for 3 days b/c she prescribed me a medicine commonly known as Phenergan (sp). Talk to your Dr and ask if they can give this to you, b/c if you're that sick, then it could be a bad thing for you and your baby b/c you might start losing weight instead of gaining. That medicine was heaven to me!!! In fact, I'm still taking it even thought I'm 4 1/2 mos. preg. Good Luck!! And Congratulations...

Ask the doctor for some remedies to help you with the morning sickness. Ive heard that Sea Kelp helps alot with morning sickness. I was sick alot when i was pregnant, but the doc put me on bed rest. So i would just ask her for some assistance.

You'll suffer like this one more month.I had the same problem, when I was pregnant for the first time. The best thing is that you eat one buscuit when you wake up early in the morning, before you get down from bed.It really works. May be you'll have baby boy........Good luck.
