The French Revolution was Based off of the American Revolution. The difference is that in America it was the upper class that rebelled against the king and inspired others to do so as well (this was because they were well read in Montesquieu, Voltaire, Locke, Rousseau- who were the great enlightened thinkers in Europe). In France it was the lower class called the Jacobin's that rebelled against the monarchy and eventually cut off their heads. But it was because the American revolution succeeded that they thought theirs would as well.

This is pretty easy. The French took great interest in our revolutionary war against the British. Once we gained our independence they were encourage to revolt against the crown. Look up Lafayette. He helped the Americans in their fight for freedom then he when back to France to lead the revolution there.

the french was interested in the american revolution since they helped out with it, so then they thought "well if the americans could overthrow the british government, then we can overthrow our government". the USA gave the french hope to have a better lifestyle with better leaders, and overall a better country.
