This is the second time in the past few minutes that you've asked a question about the square root of 300. Hrmmm.
sqrt(x)/sqrt(y) = sqrt(x/y)
In fact:
x^n/y^n = (x/y)^n for all n, assuming that there are no 1/0 issues.

you can either divide 300 by 12 and square root the answer which gives you 5 (square root of 25) or you can find the positive square roots of each and then divide them but the numbers are messy so in the calculator it also gives 5!!
this is all because of indice rules and due to the fact that square root of any number is that number to the power of a half...
answer=5

The easiest way to simplify is to remember that the ratio of two square roots is the same as the square root of the ratio (plus some concerns regarding the sign, but here both numbers are positive), so
sqrt(a) / sqrt(b) = sqrt(a/b)
Plug in your numbers, and the calculations are easy.

√300=√(100*3)=10√3
√12=√(4*3)=2√3
(10√3)/(2√3)=5 the √3 cancel out

Romasuave almost had it. Actually, the sqrt(3) factor out and 10/2 = 5. Alternately, since you have sqrt in both num & den, you can write
sqrt(300)/sqrt(12) = sqrt (300/12) = sqrt(25)=5

First you perform the square root parts of the problem. Then you do the division. If you don't know how to find a square root, you need to go to your teacher for some additional help. (The answer is 5, but if you need to show your work, that's not going to help you, is it?)

√300 / √12 = √(300/12) = √25 = 5
There is a property in math that states : √a / √b = √(a/b), so just simplify the fraction first to make it easier for you.
You can always do this in either order ('roots then divide' , or 'divide then roots'), but the answers are usually easier when you simplify any fractions first (do it 'divide then roots').

Come on folks, lets get this right!
sqrt(300)/sqrt(12) = sqrt( 100 *3)/sqrt(4 * 3) =
10*sqrt(3)/2*sqrt(3) = 10/2 = 5.
