DirecTV!!!
Cable is overpriced and has lower picture quality. The only thing good about cable is high-speed Internet access :)
Since I don't have an unblocked view of the southern sky, I'm stuck with Time-Warner until I move...

Hi Nathan,
I'd clearly vote for Dish cause:
- cheaper
- more channels and more variety
- awesome picture quality
You might check out http://www.dishnetworkbargains.com - They currently run some promo with free Dish and DVR you might take advantage of. If you have any questions just call 'em up, they are professional and helpful.
Hope that helps.
Best wishes
Jenna

EDITED: CHECK OUT THESES LINKS TO A COMPARISON BETWEEN SATELLITE DVR SERVICES.

DirecTV was cheaper for me in the past and I have had them pleasurably for the past 7 years. They offer more channels than Dish, better customer service than Dish too.
DirecTV since I have DirecTV Networked Tivo's, 5 of them. I love it!!!
