True. Meters are longer than yards, so the 100-yard is shorter than the 100-meter.

The wording in this question is confusing.

TRUE. The 100 yard dash to be the same as the metric 100 meter dash should be the 109 yard dash (and then it would still be a foot and an inch, or 13 inches, short!).

1 meter > 1 yard so the 100 meter race is longer. 1 meter = 39 inches 1 yard =36 inches. Stupid imperial system =/
