It is the theory that best fits the evidence available.

The geologic layers show that the earth is very old. The fossils in these layers show that animals changed over time. The process behind evolution can be observed today. Comparing physiology of different animal species shows similarities in all animals. Our DNA and DNA of other creatures can be tested and compared to show similarities.

The people who disapprove of evolution are not basing their disapproval on science. They are basing it on religion. 99% of all scientists reseaching evolution and evolution related sciences agree that evolution is real and has been happening on this planet for billions of years.

Yikes. Some people are really showing off their ignorance today. Look at the definition of a theory.

In the world of science, fact and theory can be the same thing. Also, gravity is only a theory. Yet, I have not met anyone who does not believe in it.

Of course it is, unless you are ignorant. It wouldn't be a theory if it wasn't valid, it would be a hypothesis. Unfortunately, about 50% of people are incredibly ignorant to evolution and science. For example, when people say "its just a theory" or "it isn't the fact of evolution" they are showing increidble amounts of ignorance.

I don't know. I'd like to understand more about why we need two sexes, though. It doesn't make sense to me. What came first, the man or the woman?
