Okay here is the deal. I am about 2 months late from getting my menstrual period. I know you may be assuming that I am pregnant right? I thought so too. It turns out that I am not because I have taken 4 pregnancy test and each of them have said negative. The last time I started my period was March 30th and on the second day that I started I had to take the Emergency contraceptive pill. Then I had to take it again two weeks later. Yes I do understand about the side effects that the pill causes. I did my part by protecting myself but when the condom tore that was out of my control.
My fiance says that stress might have something to do with it because I have been really nervous lately. I have an appt to see the doctor on Friday. But do you have any idea what could be going on?

I would say don't worry. The best way to check if you are pregnant is by a blood test, which your dr. should perform. There are a few scenarios
1) depending on your age, your body might have just hiccuped and you missed your period
2) Stress is a HUGE factor for a missed period
3) you may have been pregnant but the pregnancy did not take and your body had a miscarriage (same thing hapened to me), no the pg tests will not be positive because the level of the pg hormone will most likeley not be detected, again only a blood test will show you the results.
The second you come out of the dr.'s office you will probably get your period! Good luck

It very well could be stress causing the missed periods. Then again, I took 3 pregnancy tests with negative results and ended up being pregnant anyway! They can be wrong, even that many. Good luck to you and if you are make sure you tell your doc about the emergency contraceptives that you took. If not, relax and maybe think about going on the pill for the future.

You could be pregnant and just not producing enough HCG for the preg. tests to detect. Or your cycle could just be out of whack. According to ec.princeton.edu, "Sometimes, emergency contraception can change the length of your monthly menstrual cycle, making your next period come as much as a week earlier or a week later than usual". You are more than a week late, but I wonder if it has to do with you using the E.C. twice in one cycle. Your doctor should be able to pinpoint what's going on.

Please stop taking the emergency contraceptive pill. A friend of mine was in a very similar situation as yours and her pregnancy survived and the baby ended up having a very seriuos heart defect and passed away soon after birth I'm not here to scare anyone, I just want people to know that the morning after pill doesn't always work and there can be devastating results when it fails and the preg survives.

Honey I hate ot break it to you but there is a high likely hood that you may be pregnant. Some of th ose over the counter tests are unreliable. YOu need to go see your OBGYN.

If you are not pregnant, then stress, or diet change, or any number of other thigns could be causing you to be late. Either way, I'd talk to a doctor to get to the bottom of this.

Good luck sweetie! (hugs)

I would have the dr. do a blood test for pregnancy. Sometimes the urine tests don't react to the HPT in some women. Other than that, maybe it is just nerves, they can make you late. I have never used the ECP so I don't know the side effects of it. Good Luck.

Are you usually regular? Stress can be a factor, but two months does sound like a long time. I think the doctor will be able to help you more, and maybe have some idea as to what's going on.

Seriously, it could be anything. Could be anything from ectopic pregnancy to stress. It could be side effects from the pill. It could be that your HCG levels are too low to show up positive.

Here's what you should do, try not to worry. Keep distracted until Friday. No one on YA will be able to answer this for you so just try to stay calm until you see the doc.

You need to go to the doctors and see what the problem is. It could be anything such as infection, tublar pregnancy, or just stress. I would get on some birth control so that you don't get pregnant.
