It could be because of the fact that babies cannot talk, they have to learn how to do it first just like walking or going to the bathroom not in a diaper. And it's a proven fact that babies are smart, try watching a bit more of DHC or TLC, you might be amazed at what a baby can do from the second of birth.

you're a dumbass. they acquire vocabulary by hearing it over and over by adults, adults don't usually say 'I need my diaper changed.' At least not where I live.
