Tex is on my fantasy team, and the impact of his trade would be very important to my knowledge. Any body know where he many end up?

Hopefully the Yankees, so they can get at least one maybe two of their young pitchers. If the Yankees have learned anything during this season hopefully it's that they have a halfway decent pitching staff available to them in the minor leagues. Unfortunately for the Rangers if they trade Tex to the Yankees they most likely won't get Phillip Hughes. Something else to consider, I think Tex's favorite player growing up was Don Matingly...the man slated to replace Torre as the Yankees manager.

I've also heard Tex could go to Baltimore for Markakis and some pitching. Peter Angelos really wants Tex, and will most likely pay him the money Tex wants and deserves. Also Tex grew up in Maryland and I believe has stated it was a dream of Tex to play for the Orioles.

Honestly though I'm not expecting much out of the Rangers though. I mean these guys traded Adrian Gonzalez (to solidify Tex at first instead of moving him to the outfield) and Chris Young to the Padres a couple years ago. Traded their number 1 pitching prospect last winter to the Whitesox for McCarthy. Hopefully they'll get their moneys worth for Tex instead of trading him for $0.08 on the dollar.

The Rangers have Tex through the 2008 season and they have an option for the 2009 season but he's due for arbitration after 2008. The Rangers know that there is no way they will resign him, but they are not officially taking any trade offers yet, and they have not officially offered him up on the trade block, yet. The monster numbers he's putting up right now and the fact that he is historically a second half monster offense machine makes him highly lucrative as trade bait. The Yankees have always been interested in him and now especially with no 1st baseman. The Rangers are not going to let him go cheap and they need pitching in a bad way, so major pitching prospects (2 minimum) will be required to even bring them to the table, of which the Yankees do not have much of. Look to the Detroit Tigers, they have a very deep talent pool of pitching in their farm system and plenty to burn, they also are in need of a game changing bat and Tex swings a monster and he also brings gold glove defense with him. This is the rumor I hear most often. I've also heard of the idea of him going to Tampa for a combo type trade of an outfielder and a pitching prospect but I'm not sure Tampa would be willing to part with any of their young outfielders. The trade rumor that I've heard but that doesn't make sense is with the LA Dodgers because they already have a solid 1st bagger in Nomar, there's no DH in the NL, and the only other position that Tex has played is 3B (his original position) which he hasn't played since his days at Georgia Tech and the Dodgers don't need a 3-baseman anyway.

All of this logic aside - the Rangers aren't known for their wheeling and dealing brilliance, more for their blundering. So in actuallity, I look for the Rangers to make the trade that makes the LEAST amount of sense in which they get back next to nothing, and we can write it off 10 years from now as another idiotic move by the worst franchise in the history of baseball (and that claim dates all the way back to the days of the old Washington Senetors). More's the pity.

There are going to be tons of suitors for Tex, but I have a tough time believing that the last place Rangers will ask too much in return for him. Since they don't feel they can sign him after the season is over anyway, I'd imagine most teams will wait until free agency to make a run at him. Of course, borderline playoff teams make desperate (and often stupid) moves to give themselves an edge, so I also wouldn't be shocked if he ended up somewhere else. A lot of people are saying the Yankees, but I personally could see the Angels, White Sox, or Tigers dealing for him, seeing as how they all have minor league talent to deal and they all have a need for production at either 1B or just some pop in their lineup.

first of all, the numbers tex is putting up are fine after a rough start.

the official word from jon daniels and the rangers is that tex is not on the block and that the rangers are still in the west race.

now, lets move on to the real world. tex has the rest of this year and one more year on a 8 mill contract. his agent is scott boras who does everything to get his guys top dollar. tex will be no different. at the end of next year he will command very top dollar and get it somewhere; BUT not in texas.

tex must be moved this year and i fully expect that to happen. the rangers, contrary to the official word, are in fact way out of it and tex is our most valuable chip to trade. i would expect him to be traded to any contender, with the prospects rangers will require before the end of this season. this probably lets the yanks out, (they will try and sign him as a FA a year and a half from now), but he will be traded somewhere this year, then probably move again when his contract is up. tex is from baltimore and has expressed interest in playing for the O's. but he will wind up where the money is, which may still be the O's.

In all honesty, if the Rangers do commerce Teixera, it is going to likely be for pitching. i would not make the commerce if I have been the Rangers, because of the fact Teixera is a youthful, offesive, protective, hitter which will jack 40 bombs a 365 days. i could desire to certainly see the Yankees having their eyes on him if he's availabe. For one, they desire a huge-unfold baseman, because of the fact the platoon with Mientkiewicz and Phelps basically isn't working. yet another, the Yankees have large bats, yet including one extra fifty factors to the 1st base place, and 30 homestead runs won't harm the Yankees. he's youthful, and he likes the Yankees. He does placed on quantity twenty-3 in honor of Don Mattingly.

No takers at this point in time. The only reason they are trying to trade him is because they do not think they will be able to sign him to a new contract next year, he would be too expensive. Remember, any team willing to trade for him now would have to give up a good player and they would have the same concern as Texas of not being able to sign him next year. He will be very difficult to move this year unless someone is willing to sign him to a long term contract now.
