The mixing of the two different fluids can cause an unpleasant odor. While on it's own, neither your vaginal fluids nor his semen might smell unpleasant, together, they can smell bad. It's neither you, nor him alone, but the blending of the two together. Think of it, for example, like pickles and peanut butter. Each might smell nice on its own, but pour pickle juice over peanut butter and it might smell really awful.

I find that it fades quite a bit within a few hours after sex-while it's kind of strong if we've had sex at night just before bed, it's mostly faded by the time I get up in the morning, and what hasn't faded by then is usually taken care of when I take a shower.

Yes it does, this is why my husband and I opt for condoms as our chioce of birth control. He shoots it he should have to clean it up. We also use condoms because pills alter a womans hormones and can cause a lot of problems in a woman's body.

Yes it does. No matter what your hygiene habits (unless you douches which is a no no according to my Dr.) are it still gets up inside and creates a smell.

good grief woman, of course his semen will create odor, didn't your mom teach you to WASH afterwords? In fact, you should urinate immediately after sex to avoid bladder infections and WASH at least by the next morning. I shudder to think what your hygiene habits are like.
