80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

Life is nothing and everything, we are nothing and everything around us is nothing we know. Insanity is truth. The sub-conscious mind is existant and stands alone. We can't know the meaning of everything, and life, life is non-existant. I probably don't make any sense to you, but when you think about it hard enough, you can figure it out. Thought is everything and nothing. Life is just an illusion. It's meaning is to hide the truth from our conscious minds, and it succeeded.

Best wishes.

The meaning of life is a fundamental philosophical discussion of human existence, chiefly consisting of interpretations such as: "What is the origin of life?", "What is the nature of life (and of the universe in which we live)?", "What is the significance of life?", "What is the purpose of life?", and "What is valuable in life?" These questions have resulted in a wide range of competing answers and arguments, from scientific theories, to philosophical, theological, and spiritual explanations.

Do you want the true answer to this question?
Here it is.
About 6,000 years ago, God created the heavens and the earth, and created human beings...He created us not for ourselves, but for HIMSELF, so that He would have a people of His own that would worship Him. In our selfishness, the first humans, Adam and Eve, listened to Lucifer (Satan) and walked in their own ways instead of listening to God. This was the "fall of man." Ever since then, everyone was damned to hell...everyone rejected God, so 'good-bye.' About 4,000 years later...after many prophecies of a Messiah...God sent His one and only Son to the world...who died on a cross while bearing ALL THE SINS of everyone who ever existed and would exist...therefore making the ONLY WAY to God the Father. If we have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, then we will get to meet our Maker and live with Him for eternity. How do you know Jesus? Pick up a Bible. Read the eternal, never-changing word of Almighty God. Live to do God's will. Trust and obey. Read Matthew 7:21-23. <>< JESUS CHRIST is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

To love and worship God and His Son, Jesus. To allow the Holy Spirit to lead you through life. To think about and help and love others. To appreciate the blessings that God gives and thank Him everyday.
