there were so many warnings and chances they COULD HAVE STOPPED 9/11 from happening, but they made a conscious choice NOT TO (that is to say if they did not MAKE it happen, which i believe is true)

Why turn the US into a police state then? do you know how unlikely it is that you will die in a terrorist attack?

it's like you people don't know anything about the events leading up to 9/11. you should study them, because most of you appear so uninformed.

In 2001, the Bush Administration had just been in office for a couple of months. Bill Clinton was the president before, and Bush inherited his mistakes and threats. Osama had already bombed the WTC in a couple years before. Clinton did nothing. Osama wanted to see if he could do something to these buildings. He succeeded on September 11, 2001. This is all blamed on Bush, when it should be blamed on Clinton. He cut the military numbers down and the spending. This is the reason the world's greatest nation is struggling in Iraq. Oliver North once said that the only man he feared was Osama bin Laden. If this is not the truth I don't know what is then. North even said this in the 80's and no one took action then. This can be blamed on all the past administrations from Reagan to Clinton. President Bush is the only one brave enough to do anything about America's security. And yes I know that being in Iraq right now is to end what Big Bush started, but Afghanistan and Osama is this Bush's own doing. I support it all. Tell me has there been another terrorist attack. No, but there has been threats right. Well the government officials have stopped them all. And there was at least 3,000 men and women who also thought that they would never be killed in a terrorist attack either. We never know how we will die. Not even you.

With new terrorists and technology comes new ways to stop it. Obviously, we didn't have a good enough system at the time. Nothing is fool proof so please don't act so arrogant and have such a bellicose attitude toward those who serve to protect the USA.
You could also have the same attitude toward President Clinton in allowing the Oklahoma City bombings to happen. Heck, they were here already. That should have been easier to stop. Wasn't FDR a Democrat? They bombed Pearl Harbor. So that isn't the point, is it? Your thinking is illogical and effete. You are a flunkey to the Liberals in hating President Bush. They'll dismiss people like you when your usefulness is over just like they did with Cindy Sheehan.

US often act as a leading leader controlling the world. It has been so. Yes, some are jealous of it. Some hack care. Many of those who live in peace hack care. Those who live in poor countries don't even dare to care. Those who has nothing better to do think and act too much. Some end up becoming terrorist. Some don't but they hack care. Many times we human knew that some things can happen one day and we can be prepared for it. But since it hardly happen, so we just take things for gained. Thus, it is no surprise that the 9/11 incident can happen. I am sure if people do care, obviously someone will notice something odd with those man who are planning to die with the plane. Who don't want a peaceful happy life? But how many of us can achieve that? How many of us can help those in need? What about those who need help but are not able to get them or want help but no one bother? SO, the only way is for people to continue to live in peace and avoid been so cold blooded and give the hack care feels.. and just lend a helping hand to anyone who needs it.... etc... The world will be so peaceful... Else.. let's sing together with Carry Underwood.. And ask together.... that ... "Jesus takes the "wheel"".... Since human can't "drive" properly, no choice, Jesus might have better plans.

apparently it wasn't since we had 2 attacks on the WTC within 8 years. I would figure there are prolly more than 1000 threats overheard each day on this country, most have no substance to them, but they all get to be sorted thruthe system and threat determined for each of them.. If it was the year 2000 again and someone told you that an airliner would be a suicide weapont o level a building.. most persons would have laughed it off... up until 9/11 a plane would be hijacked.. flown to a shady nation, negioations would take place and the bad guys would dissappear ... no one actually belived that it would be used as a weapon

Apparently not. There were procedures in place for a hijacking, but four in one day.

Also, Clinton drastically cut military and intelligence spending and created walls so the agencies could not share data.

To my knowledge there is no police state. As for the unlikeliness of dieing in a terrorist attack, tell that to the 3,000 Americans who lost their lives on 9/11, to the folks who were killed in the Bali bombings, to the folks killed in Madrid bombing, to the folks injured in the London incidents, to the servicemen who lost their lives in Beirut and in the German discos, to the Americans who lost their lives on the USS Cole, to the American women and children who died from the Khobar Towers incident, to the American embassy personnel who lost their lives in the embassy bombings in Africa. . .

In order to stop it we would have had to know when and where it was going to happen and who was involved, not just know that it was being planned by someone somewhere. There were and still are many many ways we can be attacked, as we almost learned at JFK Airport this past weekend.

Obviously not, since terrorist attacks had succeeded in the US, and against Americans abroad, for years before. the first bombing of the WTC, Oklahoma City, the USS Cole, etc, etc...

No, or 9/11 would not have happened. Are you actually saying they (whoever "they" are) knew about it and let it happen? That's nuts!!!!!
