The birth control pill is a synthetic hormone. They trick the persons body into thinking that it is producing hormones. The pill controls the hormone cycle which controls the menstrual cycle. They want you to take it at the same time everyday not just for habit but to help keep your hormones at the correct level for best effectiveness of the hormone. If you take it at different times then the hormone level will drop and then when you take it raise back up.
True if you take it in the same day the pill will still work, however it does lessen the effectiveness.
If you take BC to prevent pregnancy then stick to a good routine. It is accepted that real life effectiveness of the pill is 91%. Not 99.9%. The 99.9 % is if you follow an exact routine and do not drink alcohol or smoke with the pill.

Ideally, birth control pills are taken at the same time each day. They're about 99% effective when taken this way. When they're taking hours apart, or otherwise inconsistently, they're a little less effective-closer to 95% effective at preventing pregnancy. Anything more than 12 hours apart, you should consult the information with your pill pack for instructions about a missed pill.

It's better sooner than later. To be blunt, do it and get on with it. As long as you're still taking it, that is the basic idea. Get a habit or a routine and stick with it. If you had sexual relations while forgetting it, that can ge a sticky wicket and you might want to ask a professional for advice, but if you didn't, certainly there's no harm done. If you forget it for like 24 hours that lowers your hormone level so low that you mentrual cycle starts and obviously that is too long. You really just want to stick to the program. A few hours here or there is no big deal.

You should take your birth control pill as close to the same time as you can everyday. But obviously, you have to live your life so, it's not too big of a deal, but don't do it too often.

thats fine... but next time make sure you get it with a hour or so of the correct time... Timing is a huge issue as to why birth control pills fail to prevent pregnancy....

If your taking it because you are sexually active it is essential that you take it at the same time every day. You only have a window of about two hours before/after your usual time to take it for it to be properly affective with regards to pregnancy.

As long as you take it the same day, it should be ok. I think that they tell you to take it at the same time each day just to make it routine.
