That's what a study claims. It's not just good for LGBT residents of New York (the city and state), it's also a tourist attraction!

What do y'all think?

I know I would never have gone to Massachusetts, except that was the only place we could have a legal wedding.

Well, it's a pleasant enough state, but wasn't on my "Hundred Places to Go Before I Die" list, put it that way. I'd rather have gone to Florida (my home state) or stayed in NYC.

Some of you are clearly in the wrong damn section. And I'm enjoying my bread sandwich, thank you very much, and I know Webster's will catch up.

I love New York, and New York loves me -- So, because I have alredy spent noticeable amount of money in that city, my answer is yes.

Maybe someone should do another study to discover how many millions are lost to the U.S. when a mixed nationality gay couple can't get (for example) legal work status for one spouse, and then moves to Canada or to Europe. This must be an enormous loss to the economy of the U.S. not to mention the loss of talent and loyal citizens.

But Canada and the UK and Belgium and Spain are happy to accept the double tax earnings of gay couples currently not welcome in the U.S.

there's no longer something interior the U. S. shape that announces gays won't be able to get married, and the "it incredibly is against God's needs" isn't a great reason simply by fact the U. S. isn't a theocracy, and there is an extremely sparkling separation of state and faith it incredibly is secure, it incredibly is a foundation of our u . s . a .'s shape. Gays are not struggling with for the main appropriate to get married, they have already got that precise, they're struggling with to have that precise known. have been gays legalized the main appropriate to vote in some unspecified time interior the destiny? No, they have consistently had that precise, in simple terms like everybody else. have been gays given the main appropriate to possess property or to possess weapons or pursue the religion of their determination? No, returned, they have had that precise as long as others ought as properly as each precise that each and each different citizen has. So why are gays entitled to each little thing else, yet this? Gays do no longer prefer you to grant them the main appropriate to marry, they only prefer you to quit denying them a precise that they have already got. in the journey that your church does not prefer gay marriage, i do no longer see the situation there in the event that they are actually not taking government funds, like tax breaks. yet on a civil point each individual could have the comparable rights simply by fact the subsequent... they pay the comparable taxes do no longer they?

I already have spent $$ with New York...seems like they are not lacking in the "tourist attraction" area.

But I say legalize it in NYC and New York State, the United States etc..

I'm in NJ, I can get a civil union here. I'd prefer a real marriage if I ever fall in love with someone and want to get married.

NYC is too expensive for most things, but I'll be there for the Pride parade for sure (if mother nature doesn't give us rain again).

Not really. If the Rights don't transfer back to my home and I sure can't afford to live there, why would I bother? I could have 5 wonderful parties for the same cash I would spend on a wedding there.
