On a Windows computer, go to Start > Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt. Type ipconfig and hit enter. Your IP address will be listed there. You can also get to Command Prompt by going to Start > Run and typing cmd then clicking OK.
To find someone else's IP address, try pinging it first. For instance, to find out what IP address yahoo.com is using, in the Command Prompt window type ping yahoo.com and hit enter. You can also type nslookup, hit enter, then type the yahoo.com and hit enter. Some websites, like yahoo.com, will have multiple IP addresses because they run multiple servers.
