Are there any animals withOUT tails?

Lots of animals have no tails.

Octopus, squids, starfish, sponges, centipedes, barnacles, chitins, clams, sea cucumbers, lampshells, tardigrades, and jellyfish are a dozen groups I can think of that don't have tails.

Depending on whether or not you consider abdomens to be tails, you could also include the millions of insects and spiders in there. The worms too, depending on whether you consider them all tail or not.

In terms of vertebrates, though, there are fewer groups. The fish and the terrestrial vertebrates are descended from groups that did have tails, so many of them still have tails or remnants of them.

Humans are the most familiar species with no external tail, but we still have the skeletal remnant of a tail in our coccyx. This also includes most of the other apes.

Frogs are another group that generally has no tail as adults. Seals also - or if they do, it is very short.

There a few animals that have tails but by some freak of nature they are short and cannot be regarded as tails but just stubs. The cats from the isle of Man[Manx Cats] have never been known to have any tails at all by mutation of the spine.

Let me think, several apes, there are some cats, people (no, not people, we have a mini-tailbone thing), sea anemone, jellyfish, some lizards, octopuses, those sea urchin things, most of them live underwater (i think)
