I know a young boy the age of 15. He stayed the night with some friends and the adult left all the underage kids there by themselves for several hours. They got into the adults alchohol stash and got drunk. The 15 year old boy ended up having sex with a 12 year old girl. The girls mother wants to press charges against the 15 year old boy. Can he get in trouble for this, seeing that they were left by themselves with alchohol and no adult supervision? The boy is not of age, so he couldn't be charged with statitory rape...could he??

It depends on what state it occurred in. Some state statutes say that if the male is X number of years (usually 3-4) older than the girl, he can be charged even if both are minors.

It does depend upon the state. In many states, there's a 3-4 year gap; however, in many states if the victim is less than 13 or 14, the age of the perp doesn't matter. I think the website is http://www.ageofconsent.com (although you may have to google it).

Check out this guy -- he's a convicted, registered sex offender, even though he was 12 when he had inappropriate sexual contact with an 11 year old. Now he's got to register for the rest of his life (check out the first picture from 2000... sad, really).
