Its a saying.. Guys are dumb. Most likely he didn't mean anything, but it could be a Freudian slip too.. /shrug
Sadly no one here can answer you for sure.
The avg age for marriage now days is like 28.... It may be far from his mind and immediate future. Really can't speak for him but alot of people are living together and not getting married. Guys tend to procrastinate on those things cause they are a large expense, for no "tangible" benefit and few people can really afford it in their early 20's
As you get older your priorities change and what you want out of life changes.. People change.. You may find that you don't want to be chained to him 10 years down the road.
What do you want to be doing in 5 years? Do you see him there? Is he helping you or standing in your way? Do you want kids? A career? What does he want to be doing in 5 years?
Now of course everyone wants to live the dream of doing absolutely nothing, but unless you are rich that is not a good plan for the future... Your at a point in your life where soon you are going to be thinking about a long term job(s) to be able to retire from ( and thus live the dream of doing absolutely nothing on a beach somewhere )
If you only remember 1 thing from my rant remember "guys are dumb ;) "
Bottom line, don't stress it. If he makes you happy then I wish you the best. If he ever doesn't.. shoot me a line and I will make sure you get over him.. Your too delicious to let someone take you for granted.

It’s the fact that he said "someone" that would make you wonder exactly what he was trying to say. I mean if you’re still young and not going to get married anytime soon anyways then I wouldn’t sweat it. But if marriage was something the two of you were considering in the near future then I think the two of you should really sit down and talk about where you guys are going and what the both of u want out of the relationship. Who knows, maybe he really didnt mean anything more than a compliment by it. Talk about it. Good Luck.

I think he was just saying that because of the good meal you made after cleaning the house while he played video games. Some guys think that's the way a wife should be. I don't think it's anything to worry about unless you're planning marriage. Then maybe sit down and discuss the roles you'll each be taking in your marriage.

Sounds like he has some notions about exactly what a wife is and what she does. Hopefully you don't expect to be making him dinner all the time while he sits around on his *** (excuse me). That's not a relationship -- that's a form on codependency, and there's no love in that.
Although, he may've just been joking. Here at Yahoo Answers, we don't have the benefit of hearing a person's voice inflection, so... hard to say. I would dismiss it for now, but if it comes up again, probe him a little with innocent-sounding questions.

First off, chill out. Don't over analyze what he said. He meant it how it sounded. You'll make a good wife. He's thinking yeah she'll be a good wife but since he's probably not seriously considering marriage right now the thought of you marrying or not marrying him does not even exist.

It sounds like he has no plans to make a commitment anytime in the near future. I would confront him about his statement. After 3 years you have the right to know if you have a future together.

He didn't want to state the obvious as in "you're going to make a wonderful wife to me", don't worry about it my boyfriend says it too. They obviously want you to be theirs (if they are thinking about it) but they don't want to use the direct term to give you any crazy ideas about popping the questions. Don't move on.

nothing to worry about, people think about that all the time. It's just an affectionate thing to say, just like saying you're really pretty but complimenting your human nature.
