I'm waiting for my period to come, I'm on CD 32. Not sure when it will show up. So I took a pregnancy test and you pee on it for 10 sec. Then you wait 3 min for the results. Well I waited and looked and it was a neg. Then when I came back 10 min later there was a very very faint second line. So I'm just guessing its because the test sat there for too long, what do you think?

Oh I should mention that it wasn't first morning pee, but instead it was about 2 hours after I had been up.

I guess I just wonder how many people get the second line after the recommended time and actually aren't pregnant? I wonder what the stats on that are.

Thank you everyone!

I wouldn't necessarily trust that result as a positive. I would wait a few days and re-test. You could be pregnant but not making enough pregnancy hormone to make a clear positive sign.

Both times that I got a positive home pregnancy test, I didn't have to wait 3 minutes for the second line. It started popping up as soon as I set the test on the counter, and I tested in the evening both times.

You need to do it first thing in the morning. Usually they say after 5 to 10 min...depending on the test (you should read the insert) that the test is no good. However, I had the same thing. The first line was very bold and then the second line gradually began appearing. I waited two days and took another test... that second line was much bolder!

Today I'm 36 wks and 2 dys pg.

Usually if you get a positive the second line will disapeasr after too long not the opposite. I say wait a few days and do a first morning pee. GOOD LUCK!!!

You must read it as negative. Anything over the 10minute mark after taking the test is no longer valid. If I were you I would get another test, use first morning urine tomorrow and see what it says. Let us know the results! Good luck!

This is different for every woman. The amount of time it takes for the hcg hormone to build up varies from person to person.

I typically like to wait until around 2 weeks after the missed period. But again it varies as every woman's body is different.

I realize that some tests tell you that you can test the day after the missed period, however, these tests give more false positives.

Unfortunately it is all a waiting game.

if i were you,i would take another one,i done the same thing, ans i was preg.

I would go and get a digital test because you never know you could be pregnant. Use first morning pee that way you will know for sure.

Sounds like an evaporation line. You should go with the result you got during the recommended time.
