I grew up with this girl for a few years till she moved out of state about 4 years ago. now that she's turrned 18, she moved back here, We've been hanging out lately but i'm starting to get annoyed by her being so conceited. She's always saying how hot she is and how she's going to "give the boys a run for their money" the sad thing is, she's far from cute!!!!!! How do I nicely tell her to stop, cuz it makes not want to be around her. And I can't just be blunt, cuz her temper can get nasty... remember, i grew up with her, so i know how she can get. Any advice?

I would not say be rude and insensitive because if she is saying those things and they aren't true she probably has a self-esteem issue. I would say sit her down and try to discuss how ppl like when a beautiful girl is modest about her looks even if she's lacking in that department. (don't say that end part though;)

In 4Yrs...a person can change a great deal* She obviously isn't the same person who left 4yrs ago. You don't know how her life was for those 4yrs..she seems like she needs to put herself on a pedestal.,thinking she's all that and then some...that she can give the guys a run for their money* as maybe her heart was torn out and to her ..it's just a game now*.....but Ask yourself, is this the type of person I want to call My Friend? You should just tell her how you feel and how it is....( too bad bout her temper* she'll have to deal with it*) You shouldn't have to tippy toe around a true friend..You can be Honest and not be too hurtful* Let her know that she's NOT all that and then some..that if she continues to act this way..and towards guys...you don't want any part of it* If she flys off the handle..you have your answer*

If she is truly your friend, you can be honest with her with tact. Ask yourself if the communication challenge stems from you not having the courage to face her; or perhaps she's just one of those individuals, who no one can tell anything too? If its the later, walk away. If she ask why, then let her know.

I don't know what's wrong with the world today, when friendship in the mind of some people equates to a one way relationship. Its about give and take, not selfishness.

If she's doing that perhaps it's because she feels inadequate in some way. maybe she is constantly in need of an ego boost so she gives herself one. It;'s all very phycological. . . .but, yes, I can see how that might be hard to deal with. My advice is to surround yourself with people who just want to go out and have a good time. . .sure there will be times when they need you to be there for them. . .but, they wont be completely dependant on others for their own well-being. . . which YES. . .I'll have to say is obnoxiously annoying. . .but, common for us girls ( ;

Hang in there sweetie.

Whenever she makes these comments, just jokingly (but really your serious) say something like, "you aint all that." Keep making "joke" statements like that until she either gets the hint or confronts you about it. Then it will be out in the open.

I would just be honest as I can without hurting her feelings.

Good luck.

if she's really your friend then she'd listen to you. If she won't listen to you and gets angry as long as you were nice saying it then its time to move on... sorry :(
