Because China is a dictatorship, and if Yahoo wanted to continue to conduct business in China they had to obey the rules.

Because they chose to remain in China as an ISP instead of doing the honorable thing and saying 'no' and leaving. They chose money over the lives of heroes. It is a disgrace. They are complicit in these people's deaths and imprisonment. They are commie-loving cowards and traitors to the land in which they are headquartered (US).
