I dont think it was a fluke. The Heat in 2006 were a fluke. I mean, the Pistons have been in the East Finals for 5 straight years, and have been in the Finals twice. Maybe they shouldnt have won that series against the Lakers, but it was definitley not a fluke.

No,
But the Pistons should look strongly at what is different from the 2004 team to this current team. The coach and Ben Wallace come to my mind.

No, the Detroit Pistons just wanted the ring even more. The Pistons played harder. They found every loose ball, controlled the offensive boards, kept beating the tired Lakers down the floor. They never stopped coming, never stopped "going for it."

nicely their championship became into. Malone will possibly no longer have made a distinction besides, because of the fact the Pistons have been on a project, and the Lakers chemistry became into in shambles, with the Kobe-Shaq feud, the rape case, Phil dissing Kobe in his e book, and attempting to enforce to hall of Famers in Malone and Payton into the lineup. The Lakers could desire to have gained, yet they did no longer The Pistons have been nevertheless a contender, because of the fact they made the NBA Finals the subsequent 365 days in a interest 7, and made the ECF for 6 consecutive seasons.

neither the pistons nor the heat were fluke champions. Please. There could be fluke super bowl champions and fluke ncaa tourney champions, but any team that has to win a championship by winning several seven game series isn't a fluke.
