Unfortunantely a higer dosage will not make you ovulate earlier. last cycle I took 200mg of Clomid and O's on day 22 and this cycle took 50mg and O'd on Day 22 again. If you are taking your pills CD5-9 perhpas the doctor can shift it to CD3-7 to see if that helps you O sooner. You should talk to your doctor because if you O on day 22 then a 30 day cycle is too short. The luteul phase (time between O and AF) should be between 12-16 days. Mine is on average 15 days which gives me a 37 day cycle.
Good luck and sending baby dust....

It probably won't make you ovulate much sooner but it will probably extend the second half of your cycle. If you O on day 22 and get your period only 8 days later then your luteal phase is too short. The fertilized egg won't have a chance to implant in the uterus. So, a higher dose may help correct the luteal phase defect. Now, I'm not sure what days you take the clomid but if you take it earlier in your cycle--say days 2-6 or 3-7 then it should make you ovulate a lil bit sooner.

How should I take clomiphene?
Your doctor will perform medical tests to make sure you do not have conditions that would prevent you from safely using clomiphene.
Follow all directions on your prescription label. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose to make sure you get the best results. Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
Clomiphene is usually taken for 5 days, starting on the 5th day of your menstrual period. Follow your doctor's instructions.
You will need to have a pelvic examination before each treatment cycle. You must remain under the care of a doctor while you are using clomiphene.
You will most likely ovulate within 5 to 10 days after you take clomiphene. To improve your chance of becoming pregnant, you should have sexual intercourse while you are ovulating.
Your doctor may have you take your temperature each morning and record your daily readings on a chart. This will help you determine when you can expect ovulation to occur.
In most cases, clomiphene should not be used for more than 3 treatment cycles.
If ovulation occurs but you do not get pregnant after 3 treatment cycles, your doctor may stop treatment and evaluate your infertility further.
Store at room temperature away from moisture, heat, and light.

If you ovulate on the lower dose your dr probably will not increase the dosage becasue it is not necessary. The typical dose to start os 50 mg given cd's 5-9. To help one ovulate earlier your Dr. might try having you take the same dose CD'd 3-7 or cd's 3-9. My RE did that.

dont up the dosage without your doctors informing you to do so
they usually dont ask you to up the dosage unless you are having problems conceiving with one tablet per day then they will up it to twice or three times as much
the ovulation period stays around the same - they just get kicked harder if you use a higher dosage

No...you still ovulate at the same time...if you up the dosage all you do is run a bigger risk for a multiple birth.

MY OBGYN said to me at my last appointment that if I ovulate on CD20 again this month, and don't conceive, that he would up my dosage to see if he could get my ovulation closer to CD14.......so I guess my answer to your question would be yes.
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!
