The best free MMORPG I've found (and I went out to rate sites and everything) is definitely www.rubiesofeventide.com.

It's got far better graphics (full 3-d) than any other pay-optional game out there. Although there ARE some perks if you donate.. but not so much that you'd feel shorted if you never did.

It's got like 140 character classes to choose from and about 6 races.. the crafting and character battles are instanced so nobody can grief or steal your kills. It's moderated so you can ask for help if you need it.

All in all, I have NO idea why this isn't a pay game.. it's a lot of fun.

Come look me up on the phoenix server. I'm scallawag, rapscallion, twitchn.

Right now, my favorite online game is FallenSword, a free browser based MMORPG. I like it's guild system cause it stimulates interaction, i like the lottery and the auction mechanisms and i like it because it doesn't get lagged. But who knows for how long i'll enjoy playing it? MMORPG tend to get repetitive after a while.
See you.
